Smaller water striders - Rhagovelia

Size: ~4 mm
Part of an impressively large "raft" of these on a narrow, fast-flowing stream channel. Behavior may be key to identifying this genus. They behaved more like whirligig beetles than water striders; and their swarms contracted and expanded randomly.
