Sand click beetle - Paracardiophorus propinquus

Sand click beetle - Paracardiophorus propinquus
White Fox, Torch River, Saskatchewan, Canada
August 2, 2015
Estimate 6 or 7 mm long.
This beetle was travelling across the packed, flat sand between sand banks.
Put my finger in front of it, and it tried to go under.
Rolled it onto its back and it clicked, landing upright two inches away.

Moved tentatively
Moved from Paracardiophorus.

Moved from Cardiophorus.

Moved, that may not be it!
Several northern Caridio, esp west of the Great Lakes, have a pattern like this. I would be cautious to move it to the species level based on this color alone.

Moved from Cardiophorus cardisce.
