Laying eggs - Eichlinia cucurbitae - female

Laying eggs - Eichlinia cucurbitae - Female
Atco, Camden County, New Jersey, USA
August 4, 2015
Not great image... Found laying eggs on my garden cucumber plant. Of course, I wanted to see her thing and while watching for a while, she laid more than 10 eggs individually on upper leaves, under leaves, stems, and stalk. I tried to remove some eggs, but there were still more. Now we are expecting less harvest this year. Sigh... :(
According to this link http://www2.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef314.asp
"eggs hatch in seven to 10 days. The newly hatched larva immediately bores into the stem. A larva feeds for 14 to 30 days before exiting the stem to pupate in the soil"
I'll try to witness hatching, but looks like there is no chance...
