Cicada - Neotibicen robinsonianus

Cicada - Neotibicen robinsonianus
Bullitt County, Kentucky, USA
August 5, 2015
Size: 1 3/4 inch
This cicada didn't show it's true colors until I pulled up the pictures I took. Looks like the Dogday Harvestfly (Tibicen canicularis) in my Audubon field guide. It is a little beat up and getting old.

Thanks for ID
Thanks for providing your expertise to ID this cicada! We enjoy the summer orchestra provided by them and others. (Cicadas, tree frogs, katydids and such.)
From what I have read I was lucky to find it 4ft off the ground on a Jerusalem Artichoke plant.
We have numerous red cedar trees and outcroppings of limestone on our ridge so the described habitat fits.
Again, thanks.
