Female!
Josh, why didn't you leave her in ID Request for more than one minute? She looks like a female Anthrax irroratus. Here is one for your reference, from Ontario, that shows the wing patterns better:
Here is a look at a male's face, also from Ontario: Good Luck!

Looks Good and question
Bob, Thanks. It certainly looks good for Anthrax irroratus.
About keeping it in ID request, I was told by someone to tag image to as far as I was sure I could get it (in this case I knew it was a dipteran) and then untag it in images and that the rest would occur automatically. I take it that was incorrect advice. Is there a way I could have moved it to dipterans and kept it in "ID request" or should I not have moved it into dipterans.
Thanks again,
Josh

Timing and Prefrences
Josh, you can put them wherever you want and load straight to Diptera, but a spider scientist or a wasp expert will not normally be looking there, even if they know the exact species of many other creatures. I suggest that you leave your easy ones, like this one post, in "ID Request" for at least a few hours. That way many other people can help you and then; you won't have to wait for several weeks for the Dipteran experts to get around to your image. I hope that this helps you.

Very Helpful
That explains it well. Thanks a lot.
Josh
