Yazan got it right, despite the challenging shot
it's an unfortunate angle, id-wise

for any insects with body wider than high, always start with the all-important straight dorsal shot, avoid obliques angles at all costs

for insects with higher bodies (weevils, hoppers, barklice, may- & caddisflies, lacewings, &c) lateral shots tend to be critical to very helpful

the laws of this genre is totally different

you should take and post here 'passport' photos (the exact opposite of fancy, original, artsy, or creative) in order to [1] get IDs, [2] make BG happy, and [3] bore the living frass out of your artistic self; once you've got the name for the bug, you use it on your beautiful work displayed in your gallery or portfolio -- and that way everyone will be happy and cool

 
I've got plenty of top-down s
I've got plenty of top-down shots in the past week since I got my macro lens, nice and boring of critters gathered on the side of the house by the lights at night. I'm a scientist (obviously NOT an entomologist!), so just the ID part to me is really cool.
