Family Sphecidae - Thread-waisted Wasps ID please - Palmodes dimidiatus
Skidaway Island, Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, USA
August 13, 2015
Appears to be a thread-waisted wasp, middle tibiae with two apical spurs. It moved abruptly across our sandy soil, then began excavating and quickly moved the sand and small obstructions from the hole. It appears to have four dark legs, does not stay still for quality photos.
