Frosted Whiteface - Leucorrhinia frigida - male

Frosted Whiteface - Leucorrhinia frigida - Male
Dugout Lake, Hazelhurst, Oneida County, Wisconsin, USA
June 25, 1995
A male Frosted resting on the beautiful Calopogon orchid, on a floating log in Dugout Lake.

Calopogon multiflorus?
Is that Calopogon a Many-flowered Grasspink (Calopogon multiflorus)? If so, it's fairly rare outside of FL. A good vegetative characteristic for that plant is a purple stem.

Our assumption is
Calopogon tuberosus tuberosus, but we did not attempt to key it out.
