Tarantula - Aphonopelma gabeli

Tarantula - Aphonopelma gabeli
El Paso, El Paso County, Texas, USA
August 14, 2015
This specimen was captured from Rio Bosque Wetland Park (El Paso) and kept in a terrarium for an educational show.
Dr. Brent Hendrixson (TARANTUPEDIA) kindly helped me put a name on this critter. He said: "This would be an immature Aphonopelma gabeli, probably the most common species in the Chihuahuan Desert."

Aphonopelma species.
Also, according to the page, "Don't post more than three 'ID Requests' per day."

Flexible
That rule tends to be flexible. It was set long ago, when there were far fewer editors.

I think it's OK to post far more than three images per day if they add value to the guide.

I am glad to see this discussion because
I don't want to abuse BG Editors and Volunteers, but I also want to contribute as much as possible to the guide from a geographical area I believe is under-reported. I am happy to say that I have brought a few first images to BG. For instance:
Zootermopsis laticeps-Arizona dampwood termite
Diorhabda sublineata-Subtropical tamarisk beetle
Saropogon nitidus-Robber fly
Orchesella texensis
Monellia caryella-Blackmargined aphid
and others that elude my memory right now.

What he said ^
I don't mind more than 3 when they're this nice.
