Size: ~2cm
These emerged at dusk and "swarmed" around the pinyon pines. This is my only angle, but Aaron Schusteff may have additional shots of this pair.

looks like a Phyllophaga
but a dorsal shot should help if Aaron has one! There are some additional endemic CA/Pacific Coast genera
