Size: 1.5-2 cm approx
Roadside, very disturbed habitat. A few sunflowers with a number of metallic green bees, a snout-nosed weevil, an Epicauta stinkbug, a large bumblebee, a slim robber fly with a red abdomen... so lotsa bugs in very degraded looking spot

there might not be many of them
in Colorado - as opposed to this area of Maryland where they seem to be the most common Polistes
