I actually agree with Larry that
U. rubigalis
is the most likely species,being common in your area, but
U. profundalis
has also been seen close to you, so I am a little afraid to move to species. I don't know how to separate the two with certaintly since the size of yours is right in the middle of the range for profundalis.

Many thanks for the genus - I have done some more research on BG with great interest. I have just placed an image of another Udea taken the same night with a mm rule beside it
and have raised some questions. I note that very few U. rubigalis images have any size information (and that no Udea profundalis are shown in the east. It seems a discussion among the experts would be much valued!
