Kentucky Sphinx Moth Caterpillar - Paonias excaecata

Kentucky Sphinx Moth Caterpillar - Paonias excaecata
Corbin, McCreary County, Kentucky, USA
August 8, 2015
Size: Couple inches
I have been told it is a tomato or tobacco hornworm.... but that does not seem right. I am leaning towards an early instar of blinded sphinx. Found in Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. Does anyone know what this is?

Can you darken the picture?
I think part of the problem is that the excess light has lightened some of the identifying features so that they are not really visible. Obviously it has a "granulated" body & tail and there are some small white spots ringed in red. But it is difficult to see any striping pattern due to the excessive light. It may (or may not) have the characteristic white line along the length of the head, but it is difficult to tell. Do you have some editing programs?
