Alice, this one looks to be quite varied and is the closest I can come . Did you think your hind wings were too pointed?

I'm really not sure. These were really abundant on our sheet that night and it looks a little different in terms of shape of the wings and the labial palps to me, but that could be due to regional variation. I've photographed these before in California and I never considered it as a possibility, but I can see the similarities.
