Great photo!
Tamarack tree crickets are known only from southern Michigan and northeast Ohio.
The deep rich brown color of the head, pronotum and on the limbs separates it from Pine tree crickets, which has rust rather than deep brown.
Forbes' tree cricket can have dark areas, but not his intensity of brown. Dark forms of Black-horned tree has black - not rich brown.
