Eleodes? - Eleodes

Eleodes? - Eleodes
El Paso, El Paso County, Texas, USA
August 23, 2015
This specimen was "thinner" and smaller than my two previous submissions of Eleodes.

Thanks!
Thank you Belov for your kind help.

do you have the specimen?
exact size could help a lot, too -- and, in any case, try (1) to narrow it down, it's a really helpful paper

My collection
consists of digital images. Back then when I shot that photo, I was only photographing in the field leaving the bugs undisturbed. Now, I often "put some specimens to sleep" for focus-stacking. These, I donate to other bugologists if the beasts are left in good shape. If you are interested, I could shoot more Eleodes spp. in southeastern Arizona and post their measurements too.

thanks for the explanation
i'm not interested in large bugs of any persuasion; the only reason i looked at these was that i've just spent some time putting names on specimens in the TAMU teaching collection, and then tried to figure out the unsorted Eleodes pics from TX only before my freshly acquired (and very limited) understanding of these things has faded away

so, no plans to revisit this group... moving on.
