Fortunate Idaea Moths Mating! - Idaea bonifata - Male Female
Tonopah Desert, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
May 7, 2015
Size: 6mm & 4mm bodies
These are images of a pair of moths that were mating on the wall, in the office, in the middle of the afternoon! As far as I can tell, they are Fortunate Idaea Moths, Idaea bonifata.
The forewings measure about 7mm, on the female and 5mm on the male.
Note: This is the 1st mating pair for the BugGuide!
