Badister reflexus - male

Badister reflexus - Male
West Farm, Turtle Lake, Barron County, Wisconsin, USA
July 11, 2015
Size: 4.5 mm
At lights.

Considering its size being intermediate between this species & the similar B. ocularis, I dissected the genitalia to confirm the ID, using Ball 1959.

This Badister reflexus extends the northwestern corner
of its geographic range. Thanks Brad for the notice.

Unpublished PWM note: Besides the well-known differences related to body size and degree of iridescence, reflexus is distinguished from micans & grandiceps by its well-impressed microsculpture on the pronotum versus indistinct striate mesh observed in the other two.
