Monoxia Leaf Beetle - Monoxia
Near Westwood, Lassen County, California, USA
May 18, 2015
Size: Body length 5mm
Caught near Moonlight Road - where woods end and the meadows begin, about a mile or two east of Westwood.

There were more than a few of these beetles on the Common Sagebrush shrubs, Artemisia tridentata, that grew along the forest edge and the meadows. All the beetles were fairly similar in appearance to this specimen,

I am not sure how variable these Monoxia beetles are within species level; but the specimens thus far submitted by myself, from the Westwood area, are shown side-by-side below:
