Unknown earwig-like or stonefly-like bug - large - Neocurtilla hexadactyla
Wilson County, Tennessee, USA
August 22, 2015
Size: 1.5 to 2 inches
Found it on the garage floor. I took a photo and went to find something like a quarter to lay beside it for scale and it was gone when I got back. It didn't seem very agile when I saw it--was wriggling in some dust and debris and so I thought it would stay put. I was only gone about 20 seconds so apparently it was fleeter than I thought. It did not have pincers on the rear like an earwig and it was much larger than what the guides say earwigs are.

Neocurtilla hexadactyla - northern mole cricket
Moved from ID Request.

Thank you! I thought I'd done a complete search in my Audubon guide but didn't even go to the cricket section.
