Size: 7-8 mm
This appears to be a type of a roach. Somewhat similar to the Tawny Cockroach but way out of range for that. ID appreciated.

This is almost surely the "Small Yellow Cockroach," Cariblatta lutea. Great image!

It IS a roach.
Not like any I have ever seen, though. Could very well be an exotic species. Try sending this image to Dr. Betty Faber, who runs the "Allpet roaches" website, and works at the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey. I'm sure she'd be interested.
