Unidentified Fly - Blera analis

Unidentified Fly - Blera analis
Chassell, Houghton County, Michigan, USA
June 26, 2015
I apologize for the quality of the picture. I took it at a distance, but when I moved closer to get a better shot it flew and I never saw it again.
The fly was on a grass leaf near a Blackberry patch. Nearby was a Large White Pine and a Sugar Maple. The location is in the western Upper Peninsula
of Michigan near Lake Superior. Would anyone know what kind of fly this is? Thank you.

Blera analis
Is Blera analis a northern (boreal) species? We're way up there in the
north country. I've never seen it before. Thanks, Lynn
