Cobra Clubtail, I think
That looks suspiciously like a Cobra Clubtail. In the last week or so, they've been emerging by the thousands along the Potomac River. Nice photos!

Thanks. Compared it with phot
Thanks. Compared it with photo of mature cobra from last summer in same area and it looks similar, though colors are drab compared with the mature (being in the shade may be a factor). I've been seeing lots of dragonfly and damselfly shells this weekend - good spot about a quarter mile up from parking lot on Virginia side of Great Falls.

Are there any good spots on the Maryland side?

Enjoyed your web site. I'm also into dragonflies/damselflies and am always looking for new sites/species to photograph. Lots of my shots on www.agpix.com/siskind
