Contains a brief overview of biology of the group; a key to subfamilies of Pompilidae; a key to genera of California Pompilinae; and treatments of the following genera in the indicated order of presentation:

Aporus, Allaporus, Psorthaspis, Chalcochares, Euagetes, Tastiotenia, Agenioideus, Sericopompilus, Episyron, Poecilopompilus, Tachypompilus, Anoplius (subgenera Lophopompilus, Notiochares, Arachnophroctonus, Pompilinus, Anoplius), Pompilus (subgenera Hesperopompilus, Perissopompilus, Xerochares, Ammosphex, Arachnospila, Anoplochares), Aporinellus, Allochares.
