Found on common milkweed, Asclepias syriaca, along with numerous oleander aphids and a lacewing larva. The only reason I am submitting these poor images is that they may solve the problems with IDying this species. See discussion

These aphids fit the description given by several authors (see Info. page). They have a few large orange spots, unlike the earlier ones in Bugguide with more numerous dark spots.
