Terry, have you ever seen underside tentiform mines on Sideroxylon, like the ones Mike found here?

 
Underside mines
No; I saw the posting but did not comment because I have never seen these in the field. This is interesting; I hope that an adult can be reared at some point.

Parectopa bumeliella
These are mines of Parectopa bumeliella (Gracillariidae). The larva first separates the very thin upper layer, then eats away the green part of the floor, so that the mine ends up being a full-depth blotch. The lower left example is an old, evacuated mine that went to full term (floor completely eaten away); the lower middle and lower right mines are underway, with the floor partly removed; and the upper two are either abortive or at an early enough stage that the floor is still intact.
