Insect eggs
Mason, Ingham County, Michigan, USA
August 31, 2015
What kind of eggs are these? They are so neatly arranged! Found this leaf on a healthy red oak. The leaf was attached to the tree. I plucked a random leaf to show my son its shape and discovered the eggs at that point. We tried to use Google to identify. Thought maybe woolly bear eggs, but the pictures didn't match *exactly.* We are still curious!

Moth eggs
Your photo doesn't show enough detail to be sure, but I suspect a noctuid such as Noctua pronuba.

Thank you! Based on your suggestion, I looked up some photos of noctua pronuba eggs and they do look very similar. I did not have benefit of even a magnifying glass, and I no longer have the leaf, so it's hard to say for sure, but that looks quite close! I appreciate the answer!
