 Mantidfly Larvae

Mantidfly Larvae
Wimberley, Hays County, Texas, USA
September 2, 2015
Found this in the abandoned egg sac of a Hogna antelucana wolf spider. She made the sac on 7/28/2015 and discarded it today, 9/2/205. I opened it to find about 10-15 spiderlings and this hard yellowish silk ball. Inside the ball was this mantidfly larvae. Looks like it was almost ready to turn into an adult. I am not sure, but this may be Dicromantispa interrupta.

Oh my goodness.
It is on my wish list to find a larva or pupa/cocoon of one of these.
Very nice! Thank you for posting.
