Stygian shadowdragon (DDF181) Neurocordulia yamaskanensis - Neurocordulia yamaskanensis
Great Falls NP, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
May 25, 2007
This was photographed 3 days prior to and within 5 feet of individual in photo 113381. It has the beginnings of markings of stripe-winged. Questions. Is it a stripe-winged? Could it be the same individual - do they change coloring that much in just a few days?

Moved
Moved from Umber Shadowdragon.

Not Umber
Stygian N. yamaskanensis.

how to revise description
I think your id is correct from blowing up the image and looking at the basal amber spot of hind wing. I edited my title to indicate Stygian, but couldn't remove the latin name for umber. Also, the image is still in the umber area.

See
Your Shadowdragon shot. I think you have documented the early color changes of the teneral form.
