Camponotus herculeanus? - Camponotus modoc - female

Camponotus herculeanus? - Camponotus modoc - Female
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
May 28, 2007
Size: 11mm, approx
Found wandering around on the foundation of my house (it's brick, so I'm not worried about invasion). Usually these ants are all business and don't hang around to let me get a few shots.

Moved from Carpenter Ants.

Camponotus modoc?
This looks like Camponotus modoc to me. In the northwest, the yellowish abdominal hairs and reddish legs are pretty distinctive. C. herculeanus has reddish on the propodeum which is lacking here.

Thank you
I have a lot of trouble identifying ants.
