Bathroom spider
Portland, Oregon, USA
September 7, 2015
Size: Around 1 inch overall
Photo is terrible, i know. It was in a tough spot for my camera to focus on, and i didn't have time to grab a new lens.

I've just moved from CA to OR, and although i could identify any spider i came across there, these are new to me.

Whatever it is, when i attempted to catch it, it ended up falling on the floor and hiding behind the toilet, so i'm hoping it's not an angry brown recluse hiding back there. (though i don't know a lot about recluses, i'm thinking from the carapace being more oval than round it probably isn't one?)

not a brown recluse
brown recluse occur in the central US. This may be a Scotophaeus blackwalli that hitched a ride w/ you from CA or it is already established in your locality , it is introduced from Europe and is found around buildings on the Pacific Coast.
