This was on the sand at the beach. It can move very fast!

Looks like a Staphylinidae (r
Looks like a Staphylinidae (rove beetle) larva in the subfamily Staphylininae, maybe the subtribe Staphylinina? Found on the beach in California, is large and looks like a Staphylinina, I'm thinking maybe it could possibly be a Thinopinus pictus larva. The larva has been described so you could probably find out on the web maybe?
