This specimen may be an example of the Grape Leafroller (Desmia maculalis) 5160. Eclosed from a late instar larva I reared on Virginia Creeper. This was the host plant I found several caterpillars folded in leafs. The caterpillars were green and changed to a pinkish color before pupating.

Food plant selection
BugGuide Info for Desmia maculalis states "larvae probably feed on grape and evening primrose." Indeed, your individual chose Virginia Creeper, and I just had the individual shown here eclose from a leaf fold created around April 28 on Evening Primrose that the caterpillar had fed on. Does D. maculalis know something about any relationship between these two plant species that we don't? I regret not having taken pictures due to health issues.
