Some of these were on the same oak tree with some like this that I just posted. Are they different species?

Cyrtolobus vanduzeei
I don't know the CA species; there are at least 2 in CA. Eastern members of the genus often have females less strongly marked than males, so I expect they are the same species.

Chris Dietrich thinks that both sets of photos represent color forms of C. vanduzeei.
