Black Wasp - Sphex pensylvanicus

Black Wasp - Sphex pensylvanicus
Denton, Denton County, Texas, USA
September 7, 2015
Size: About 2 inches long
Several species of wasps and bees were nectaring on a four-foot tall bush full of yellow wildflowers. Feeding next to this large black wasp on this same plant was Blue-winged Wasp (Scolia dubia). A large bee also came to feed but did so only temporarily. What is this large black wasp's ID? Thank you for your assistance. Will be posting results to several iNat projects in Texas including The Insects of Texas and Bees and Wasps of Texas among others.
