Gelechiidae larva on Mountain Mint - Chionodes pseudofondella
Wyatt Fen, Mitchell County, Iowa, USA

Size: 11 mm
August 25, 2015: collected larvae on the woven flower heads of Mountain Mint, Pycnanthemum virginianum
A previous unsuccessful attempt at rearing:
March 28, 2016: moth emerged
March 29, 2016: 2 moths emerged
April 29, 2016: final check of rearing container, sorting through dried plants and substrate, 4 more moths (dead), one of which had crumpled and poorly patterned wings. 2 spent pupae in loose peat cocoons, 2 spent pupae with no outer covering (couldn't find the other 3 spent pupae)
