Selenophorus seriatoporus Putzeys
is my physical determination for this female specimen. Thank you Iustin for this exciting voucher specimen which represents a Mexican species new to the USA and new to BugGuide. Details of its range extension into southern Texas is reported in a Selenophorus review paper of the March, 2021 issue of The Coleopterists Bulletin. This Texas record is added to the Registry of North American Caraboidea. Curiously, the half dozen or so known specimens from southern Texas have all been females. I had hoped to dissect a male for comparison with the native Mexican population. Iustin, please watch for more of these.
