Green (larval stage?) insect - Tortricidia flexuosa

Green (larval stage?) insect - Tortricidia flexuosa
Holyoke, Hampden County, Massachusetts, USA
September 17, 2015
Size: Approx 3/8" L
Found this on a northern red oak leaf (can judge its size from leaf veins in the photo). It's fleshy, and adheres to the leaf as though it had suction type feet. You can see its caterpillar-like head in second photo, which leads me to believe it's a larval stage insect.
