Size: approx 6 mm
The beetle briefly flew to a late blooming flower out in a sunny, valley full of coarse marsh grasses and next to Hinch Creek. Thick coastal forest surround the valley.

This may or may not be a teneral specimen, but it seems clear that those markings are going to be faded throughout the ladybug's lifetime except for the scutellum marking. This matches Gordons illustration of a pale form of the species with a dark scutellum marking but all other markings faded. http://www.discoverlife.org/20/q?see=I_JEL1506&res=md

It seems we can rule out tredceimpunctata because the scutellum marking is more T-shaped rather than broken into spots or obviously V-shaped. Interesting bug, and I'd love to have seen how it looked 24 hours later.
