genus Caenurgina
too light to distinguish markings clearly. There are two closely related species that come to mind - Caenurgina erechtea and Caenurgina crassiuscula ... in C. erechtea, two dark bands on each forewing do not touch each other near the midline, and the inner (or more basal) band does not touch the inner margin [whereas in C. crassiuscula, the bands almost touch each other near the midline, and the inner (or more basal) band touches the inner margin]

with that said, however, based on location and month of sighting I would suggest Caenurgina erectea which is the only species of the two reported in Oregon.

Suave Island Moth: genus Caenurgina
Thank you, Marcia, for your thorough, and very helpful, analysis. I will accept C. erectea as the most probable id. Thanks again.
