I've never heard of
a dragonfly called a green clearwing and Erythemis simpicollis is in the family Libellulidae while this specimen is a Dragonhunter which is in the Gomphidae.

Can you id the species of Gomphidae?

Scientific name is Hagenius brevistylus.

English names have been standardized since that book was published and Erythemis simplicicollis is Eastern pondhawk
