The Vestal For Illinois In June - Cabera variolaria - female

The Vestal For Illinois In June - Cabera variolaria - Female
Norris City, White County, Illinois, USA
June 1, 2007
Size: Approx. 1 in. wingspan
This moth was flying around during the late afternoon, about 4.09 p.m., and it was just landing on the tall grass in a field. I couldn't discern any markings on the top or the bottom of the wings. It was relatively small, with a wingspan of only about 1 inch. Due to the antennas not having the feathering, I assume this to be a female specimen. Any clues as to what it might be?

July 4th, 2007 Update - I now believe this to be a Pink-striped Willow Spanworm. Any confirmation on this?

July 17th, 2007 update - It now appears to have been identified by some unknown editor and moved to it's appropriate guide page. Thank you, unknown good person!
