Hangingfly - Bittacus pilicornis

Hangingfly - Bittacus pilicornis
Parsons Run, Duluth, Fulton County, Georgia, USA
July 2, 2004
Attracted to my backyard mercury vapor lamp. It was skittish and didn't care for me getting close with the camera. I had been wanting to get some good shots of one of these, so when it flew off I chased it around my backyard.

Genus id basically a process of elimination after checking Arnett (1).

Opinion on this one?
Martin, is this the same species?

Also, are both of these males? I was under the impression that only the males take the hanging down posture with the protruding rear legs, but that is only an impression!
