Pygarctia flavidorsalis? - Euchaetes helena - male

Pygarctia flavidorsalis? - Euchaetes helena - Male
Campwood, Edwards County, Texas, USA
September 20, 2015
I have posted one of these before but was told I needed a foreleg picture for a species ID. However, I cannot find a picture of a foreleg to refer to, so I still do not feel comfortable placing this moth to species without confirmation. Attracted to UV light.

Well, my foreleg picture was too large to upload and now I have done something that will not let me access it, but it has a yellow foreleg.

I sent this specimen to BOLD as P. flavidorsalis and it came back Euchaetes helena to my surprise. They have 4 barcoded specimens of this species which is unusual so I feel sure mine is the same species! It can be seen at Bin BIOUG26825-B07, my specimen TXLEP103-15.

Placed tentatively until I get results back from BOLD. I have now seen two of these and but for a computer glitch I would have had a yellow foreleg photograph.
