In the meantime, this is a female Dancer
genus Argia, likely Argia apicalis, blue form

Please crop your images to a rectangle
that is essentially 'just the bug'. While you as contributor can click on your image and see the full size 2200 pixel image you posted, the rest of us are restricted to this 560 pixel reduction which is 10% damselfly and 90% soil - very difficult to ID. After cropping your image, please click on Edit here and Browse to the new image to replace this one with the cropped one. Thanks.
