Size: 10mm?
At first, I noticed male (with white spot on abdomen) flying around female to try to mate. But female refused and soon male disappeared.
Was feeding aphid (I think) on plantain in grassy area.

Only two
species in NJ and this looks like N. politus.

Update: Above identified as N. politus, female! Oh, these rare robbers are exciting.
