tree hoppers attended by black ants - Entylia carinata

tree hoppers attended by black ants - Entylia carinata
West Point, Hancock County, Illinois, USA
September 24, 2015
I curious to know what is going on here. I believe these are nymph tree hoppers being attended to by some black ants. I found this on the underside of a cockelbur leaf in a weedy prairie restoration at Samuel Barnum Mead Savanna Nature Preserve. If anyone knows the identity of the "tree hoppers" or the ants that would be nice to know as well.
