Size: 15mm
This fly came out a little worse for wear (one wing missing) it appears to be a tachnid of some sort.

The standard guess...
for such a fly would be
Archytas apicifer
:
The Tachinidae is such a huge and confusing family, however, that there are any number of ways to be wrong. I doubt even a dipterist would be comfortable giving a firm ID even to genus based on an image alone.

I don't think so
A. apicifer
seems to have a black shiny tail with no markings. The current fly looks more like
Epalpus signifer
with a cream chevron on its tail, compare with
…
