Unknown leafhopper - Otiocerus reaumurii

Unknown leafhopper - Otiocerus reaumurii
Fayette County, Kentucky, USA
September 28, 2015
A pretty little leafhopper on a tree trunk near the Kentucky River.

Moved from Otiocerus kirbyii.

...kirbyii is now reaumurii? Or were all of the supposed kirbyii specimens simply misidentified?

As near as I can tell, all the specimens were just misidentified. kirbyi is apparently a very pale species, with the band relatively faint.

According to this site, kirbyii has been found from Nova Scotia to Texas. Seems odd that suddenly we've got none. Something to look for, I guess. :)

Moved from ID Request.

Our first record from KY. Thanks for posting--and welcome to BugGuide!
