Larvae? - Harrisina metallica
Safford. On my back porch , Graham County, Arizona, USA
October 4, 2015
Size: ~3/8"
I found about 1000 of these dead on my back porch. And last week I noticed that my grapevines had been decimated. I don't know if there's a relationship, but it seems likely.

Yes,

but why would they be dead? Did they run out of food?

my dead bugs
Well the grapevine IS gone...
But there are really more like a million. I have no idea why there are dead - nor why they crawled up next to my house. Upon closer inspection, they are not just under the house lights, but all along the exterior walls. It could just be the regular pest control measures I use.
